For the Hollywood viking movie "Last Battle Dreamer" they are still looking for 200-400 men and women as extras.
Corinna Martens of the Casting Company agenturcatwalk said they are looking for people having the nordic look, also pale people with red hair. Would be great if they had some experience with fighting and swordfights and bow shooting (arrows). We are looking for men with beards and long hair, true vikings.
Movie shooting will start in Plöen and the region in December. The movie should be in the cinemas in 2009. Regie: Menno Meyjes, who won a Oscar nomination for "Die Farbe Lila" (Colour of purple?).
Casting:
Pub Fleethörn, Gänsemarkt 14, 24306 Plön
On the: 10th of Nov, 11.00 am to 16.00 pm
Another casting will be at the 13th of Nov.
Anyone who is interested doesnt have to make an appointment, they can just show up
Earlier this year there was the less than stellar Pathfinder, a film that looked great but managed to disappoint with poor story, characters and execution. Then there’s the upcoming Outlander, a film that looks and sounds good, even with it’s somewhat sci-fi-ish overtones and now we have yet another Viking film in production.
Empire has news that director Menno Meyjes is preparing to shoot Last Battle Dreamer. Set in the 7th century, the film is about a Viking warrior called Thorfinn who invades Britain with his battle-scarred older brother Hakon.
That vague yet excellent premise is boosted out of the stratosphere with the casting of Sean Bean as Hakon. What I’m not particularly thrilled about is the casting of Ryan Phillippe as Thorfinn. Though Phillippe definitely looks the part, I have a hard time buying him as a Viking conqueror. Thrown into the mix is the beautiful Abbie Cornish, likely as a British maiden caught in the middle of the invasion.
Though I have a few initial concerns about the little bit of information we have they’re greatly outweighed by the brilliant casting of Sean Bean and Abbie Cornish and the direction of Menno Meyjes. Though the director hasn’t made a lot of films, I recently had the chance to see his debut Max, a fairly good film about Adolf Hitler and art dealer Max Rothman, and I’m curious to see where he takes this story.
More Vikings. Always a good thing.
